Central Policy Unit - Commission on Strategic Development

A Government spokesman today (September 16) announced that the Chief Executive had appointed Mr Shiu Sin-por, S.B.S., Mr Cheung Kwok-che and Mr Pun Tin-chi to the Commission on Strategic Development (the Commission).

Mr Shiu will serve on the Executive Committee of the Commission. Mr Cheung and Mr Pun will serve on the Committee on Social Development and Quality of Life of the Commission.

"The addition of new Members to the Commission will enrich the discussions in the Commission, especially on major issues relating to Hong Kong's long-term development. With their professional knowledge and extensive community service experience, they will contribute to the work of the Committees," the Government spokesman said.

Their term of appointments is from September 18, 2006 to June 30, 2007. A brief introduction of the three new Members is at annex.
